Back in the 90’s, there was a whole generation of party-goers who would frequent the nightclubs of our Sister City-Ciudad Juarez. The alcohol was cheap (usually paid for with your cover charge) and block after block there were numerous options just over the International bridge. One particular place was the staple of Avenida Juarez, a sort of Mecca, that became the “Go To” place for all who attended the Strip. That place was the Tequila Derby. Those old patrons, now all grown up, always smile when remembering The Derby. So I made a typical weekend street scene, using Hispanic/Mexican based cartoons, logos, and mascots for familiarity to reminisce of those old days.
